Ottawa born, Burlington raised & London aged, this south western Ontario songwriter and singer, performs mostly original material.

As a member of the folk duo Sirens, Jo-Ann Lawton earned a C.F.M.A. {Canadian Folk Music Award} nomination (for Best Vocal Group) in 2007.
Sirens disbanded in September of 2009.

After the disbanding of Sirens, and going through several years of tough family issues, Jo-Ann has struggled to find her musical niche, mostly abandoning her songwriter/singer roots to the public eye. She has spent most of her time and musical energies helping to forge a motley ensemble of (up to) seven ukulele playing ladies into a cohesive entity: the Ukellettes. The Ukellettes now perform at various functions around the area.
Jo-Ann has added many traditional and old-time-favourite songs to her repertoire, now plays the ukulele, and you might find her playing solo at Old Folks Homes.

But in the summer of 2011, Jo-Ann has made a step forward in returning to the scene as a songwriter, and has instigated a continuing Friday night concert series of (mostly) original material at a local venue.
